Sigma's Fortress
Secrets, Tricks, and Tips
Feet: Found in Chill Penguin's stage, and is fairly obvious. You
can't go through the level with getting to the Capsule.
Helmet: Found in Storm Eagle's stage, after the continue point. Go
to the large scaffolding tower, and slide down the right of it. Dash-jump to
the right, onto a ledge. Shoot the gas barrels, and enter to get the capsule.
Body: Found in Sting Chameleon's stage; get to the large hill before
the area where blocks fall from the ceiling (which, by the way, are breakable
with the helmet. They can fall on X and he won't get hurt if he has the
helmet). Dash-jump to the right, onto the cliff. Defeat the claw robot, and the
Capsule is yours.
Arms: This is probably the hardest to get, unless you wait until
the first stage of Sigma's Fortress. In Flame Mammoth's stage, go to the area
right before the lava with flame bursts. You should see some strange blocks
above you. Get on the platform to the right, then dash-jump left onto the
strange blocks. If timed right, you will catch on by just a thread. Keep
jumping to destroy the blocks, then climb up the shaft to the Capsule. OR, if
you don't want to do that, wait until the first Sigma level. Zero will give you
his arm cannon, which many refer to as the Zero-buster or Z-buster.
Launch Octopus: At the point where there is a ship that is
launching water mines, get on the ship and destroy it. Storm T. works best.
Stay on the ship as it falls down in the water. Go to the right, into the large
room. Destroy the eel, and then continue to the right to find the heart.
Chill Penguin: In the outside area where you get a mech, ride it
to where you see a ledge above you. Jump up the ledge by jumping in the mech,
then jumping out of it in mid-air. Equip the Fire Wave, and use it on the
little insect hives. One of the two contains the heart.
Flame Mammoth: Now's a good time to mention that beating certain bosses
has an affect on other levels. To get the heart here, you must beat Chill
Penguin beforehand. This will cause all the lava to freeze. Go to the point
where the lava and fire bursts used to be, and just walk on the frozen lava all
the way to the right to get the heart.
Boomer Kuwanger: This is visible, but impossible to get until you
have the Boomer Cutter weapon, which you get from Boomer Kuwanger himself. So,
just come back the stage, and use the B. Cutter to snag the heart.
Sting Chameleon: This is another stage that is affected by
destroying a certain boss. Destroy the Launch Octopus to cause water to flow up
in Sting Chameleon's stage. Go to that same point before the falling block
tunnel, but this time go slide down the right side of the pit. Destroy all the
blocks, then dash-jump to the right. This is only possible time to get this is
after the water is there.
Spark Mandrill: This one is tricky to get. It is on a ledge up a
wall around halfway through the stage. Try dash jumping off the wall, then back
to the wall in one jump to get up to the ledge. You can also try using the B.
Cutter to get it.
Armored Armadillo: Simply beat the second large crusher bot before
he destroys the way up to the heart. Use Fire Waver on him to take him out
quickly.
Storm Eagle: Once you have the boots, go to the elevator platforms
at the beginning of the stage. Get on the one that leads all the way up to the
top, and when it gets there, dash-jump to the left to get the heart.
Storm Eagle: Go to where you see a turret on an elevating tower.
Destroy the turret, ride the tower up to the observation tower, destroy the
glass, and fight your way through the two bots to the sub-tank. Or, if you want
to be sneaky, climb up without destroying the glass, walk across the top, get
the sub-tank, and gun down the bots from behind!
Armored Armadillo: Start the first crusher bot going, and climb
back up the mineshaft. After he has passed, go down to where he was. You'll
find the sub-tank there.
Spark Mandrill: At the beginning of the level, make your way to
the right, taking the lower ladder paths. When you see the sub-tank, jump and
fire the B. Cutter to grab it.
Flame Mammoth: Go back once more to the area where all the lava
and fire bursts and stupid annoying mole bots are. Make your up the platforms,
until you get to the top. Make your way to the leftmost platform, and dash-jump
to the left. Jump off of the strange lock to destroy them and get the tank.
Each Maverick is weak against a particular weapon. This is a list of what hurts
whom the most.
Homing Torpedo: Use against Boomer Kuwanger
Chameleon Sting: Use against Storm Eagle
Rolling Shield: Use against Launch Octopus
Fire Wave: Use against Chill Penguin
Storm Tornado: Use against Flame Mammoth
Electric Spark: Use against Armored Armadillo
Boomer Cutter: Use against Sting Chameleon. See Tricks Section for further
notes
Shotgun Ice: Use against Spark Mandrill
Here is the order I suggest:
Chill Penguin
Spark Mandrill
Armored Armadillo
Launch Octopus
Boomer Kuwanger
Sting Chameleon
Storm Eagle
Flame Mammoth
This is the list of Bosses in Sigma's Fortress and what weapon to
use on them
Vile: Homing Torpedo
Bosspider: Shotgun Ice
Rangda Bangda: Chameleon Sting
D-Rex: All weapons do equal damage, but Homing Torpedo will lock on, making it
easier
Velgauder (Sigma's Dog): Shotgun Ice
Sigma: Electric Spark
Super Sigma: Only two weapons even hurt this guy. Using fully charge X-Buster
shots does only one bar of damage per hit. Using fully charged Rolling Shield
does two damages, but it is very hard to hit Super Sigma with it.
Fireball Info, the Boss affects guide, and the Boomer Cutter
trick!
Fireball: For all the Street Fighter fans out there, this is for
you! Once you have all weapons, capsule upgrades, hearts, and sub-tanks, go to
Armored Armadillo's stage. Play through it five times with full life energy and
weapon energy. On the fifth time, at the end of the last big mine cart ride,
dash-jump to the right at the peak of the cart's leap over the huge pit. You
should see a capsule. When you get the upgrade, motion down, down forward,
forward, then press fire to execute this move. It can only be done at full
health, but it kills every enemy except possibly for Super Sigma in one hit!
Boss affects guide:
As you probably know, defeating certain bosses affects other levels, or in some
cases that same level. Here's a guide to whose death does what.
Chill Penguin: The lava in Flame Mammoth's stage freeze's over. (Hell finally
froze over)
Launch Octopus: Water flows up in Sting Chameleon's stage
Storm Eagle: The airship crashes into the power plant that is Spark Mandrill's
stage, causing power failure's in certain points of the stage.
Spark Mandrill. Power failure's start to occur in his own stage, even if Storm
Eagle is still alive.
That's it as far as I know.
The Boomer Cutter Trick: Ever wonder how much easier it would be of you just
got rid of Launch Octopus' arms, preventing him from shooting torpedoes and
using that stupid life drain attack? What would it look like if Flame Mammoth
had no nose?! Well, Now you can find out!!!! Just use three Boomer Cutter's on
Flame Mammoth to chop off his nose, or on Launch Octopus to ditch his arms!!!!
